Writing Improvement Idea

Shakespeare Quotes to Start Your Day

by Jill O’Hora Lesson 193:

Advice for Writers

Sonnet 77 Lines 9-14

Adam Look what thy memory cannot contain, Commit to these waste blanks, and thou shalt find Those children nursed, delivered from thy brain, To take a new acquaintance of thy mind. These offices, so oft as thou wilt look, Shall profit thee, and much enrich thy book.

Translation to modern english

Write down on paper what your memory can’t hold. Once freed from the mind’s grasp, your written ideas will grow and appear fresh to you as do children sent away to be nursed. These practices will benefit you and will bring greater richness to your writing.
