When your mind is racing. One thought produces lots of sub-thoughts a lot of which are not even relevant to the puzzle being solved at hand. People tell us we are tangential thinkers and when asked questions about the conversation we are having give bizarre unrelated replies.
Some are even bolder in their remarks about us and will say things like “are you with us?” or “where have you been the last ten minutes or so?” It really is very embarrassing.
The conversation in your head with yourself is not where you should be. Following some imaginary plot/story about the girl that you barely know is at best interesting at worst pure fantasy
Real friends offer advice like “get a grip will yer!” “are you on bloody drugs again?” “leave the fairies and the pixies to just get on with it!”.
This is NOT a criticism! It is an observation as we all do this. IT IS NOT GOOD FOR US to be so out of touch with what the hell is really going on in our lives. AND YET some people think that the movie on constant play in their head is their life. How sad is that?
So, how do we stop it? You can’t easily stop this fascination with self. THOUGHT in your head is 80% about you if you are lucky. I know many people who are 100% selfish and ALL their entire THOUGHT is about them.
Time to start my MEDITATION COURSE to be found on this very website. The more time you spend in NOW contemplating reality, the much more calmer rational, loving person, you will become.
