the Aftermath

After the debt was paid off and Jesus had Judged the world and saved us all from our rebellion against God. He returned to the Father promising a second coming and an end to all things. In His absence he would leave us with ‘The Holy Spirit” to keep Guard and protect us. The Holy Spirit’s other job is always to point to “seekers after the truth” that Jesus is ‘The Way, The Truth and The Light’ and provide testimony of the absolute certainty of the source of the light.

I am not going to try to explain the Holy Trinity. I don’t think God believes it exists, and so I am not certain either.

SO…

Ask and you will be answered, knock and you shall enter, seek and you will find. Notice carefully though these things are things for you to do. They are not tasks for some clever priest, evangelist, prophet or soothsayer to do for you. There is no magic Christian. In the end it all comes down to you.

To do it on your own you will need three things…

  • Faith
  • Hope
  • Charity – which some have reduced as Love

Watching & Waiting

Whilst we are “earth bound” awaiting His Return and generally enjoying life & interacting nicely together Jesus said we should…

Mat 22:37  Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39  And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

[Note; Moses is regarded as the representing the Law as he delivered the 10 Commandments. Elijah is the first of God’ prophets – both of these ’appeared’ with Jesus when his “mission” was declared at the transfiguration.]

It occurred to me that having read this web site thus far thee are still some people, lovely, generous, big hearted, caring people, who will still think “Oh he won’t bother wth me, I am nothing, I am nobody, I am unworthy etc.”

I see a lot of myself in this person and when I back slide and think this waay I always cast my mind to think about one New Testament Character who felt the same, asked the same questions and was saved, In actually fact he was the very first person saved by Jesus.

Head of the queue. And this makes me think in turn of Jesus saying I have come so that those that were last will be first and those that think themselves first will be last.

Luk 23:32  And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

Luk 23:33  And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Luk 23:34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luk 23:35  And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

Luk 23:36  And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

Luk 23:37  And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

Luk 23:38  And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Luk 23:39  And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

Luk 23:40  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

Luk 23:41  And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

Luk 23:42  And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

Luk 23:43  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise

I make no excuse for using the King James Version of the Bible which was actually translated by one William Tynsdale. (you may see his initials in the margins of a King James Bible)

The ancient olde english Language has a beauty all of it’s own. Besides King James may have taken the credit for the first Bible in English and not in Latin (that only the High and Mighty could actually decifer – One of the original Latin Scholarship schools lies withing Howden Minster accessed by a door up steps on it’s right hand side.) It was this Bible that gave access to the masses that were educated enough to be able to read so that they were no longer relient on a Church Minister for guidence on its content.

The masses loved their New Bible but the church feared for its authority and poor William Tyndale was strangled for being a heretic.

A while later THE REFORMATION took place led by peope who saw that they had been “controlled” by Rome for many, many, centuries.

THERE IS NO ONE MORE OR LESS SPIRITUAL THAN YOU.

You can’t understand The Word Is A Big Lie That Keeps people

    • Subservient To The Church
    • dependent on rites and ritual
    • feeling rather unworthy

Know this… that God created you, and loves you as much as he loves Everyone else. When He said he loves ALL creation He meant it.

PLUS…  there is a part of the creator living within you.

oh,  you might call him conscience, or commonn sense, or wisdom, or spirit guide… but know this, he is God.

I call that llittle voice “Norman” because from him comes wisdom. He didn’t like that much, so when I am asking a favour, I call him Om, he really likes that.

“What’s This! Voices in your head? – are you stark staring mad!?”

“Oh… You don’t hear Him then?”

I have a Russion icon on my wall. It shows a street scene. Jesus is standing, waiting outside of a house door. He is tapping on that door. The door has no handle on the outside, nor window. He is waiting to be invited in by the house holder. YOU! His message is always the same. “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one enters the ’Kingdom of Heaven’ save by me.”

I AM the way. No one else, just me, and all you have to do is open that door to your very being and let Him in.

Yes, its that simple. So simple even a small child could understand it. What was it that Jesus told Nichodemus? “unless you be born again, you cannot enter the Kingdom of God.”

’Born Again’ means to become child like, abandon sophisticated analytical thought, judgement, pride, greed and all those other things you learned as an adult, and return  to how a child “thinks” and lives its life. A child, very simply, trusts and obeys. Can you hear that very famous Wesley hymn in your mind now? i can. The truth triggers  some thing in our minds… Doesn’t it Norman?
