2 – The Three Principles

This is all you need to know! Three words. Shown below is a very brief explanation of what each word is. You can begin by memorising this short list. This is where all 3P practitioners begin. Your next job after this is to UNDERSTAND exactly what these three words convey. This is a lot more difficult than you imagine. It took me 12 months to “GET IT!”. IT MIGHT ONLY TAKE YOU 12 MINUTES! But be warned it will take some time. There is a vast difference between KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING as you will be come aware of before you ARE up and running with the THREE PRINCIPLES.

consciousness: - is a principle, that allows us to see creation 
and all it entails, period.

divine mind: - is the intelligence of all things whether in form 
or formless.

thought: - is a divine gift, that we use to go through life 
as thinking creatures.

The 3 short books have become a library as more and more people try to explain Syd’s understanding of them. There is a culture out there of people telling you that you really  need to pay  them to understand Syd.

I don’t think you need any assistance. A gentle guiding hand freely offered yes, but there are no Gurus, Nobody is more able and spiritual than you are at understanding you.

Consciousness, you can think of as a Glass Elevator that goes up and down on the outside of a building. Our consciousness is constantly going up and down “in the moment”.  Before you were introduced to this principle you spent a great deal of your daydreaming of the past and the future. When you are in your head concerned with your past.  Despite all your thinking about it you cannot make your past MORE, BETTER or DIFFERENT. IT IS WHAT IS. Dragging up good memories is very good for you when the present is tough. Dragging up bad memories does not change them and just makes you feel anxious and frustrated. Likewise the future is uncertain but unlike the past you can plan and shape it BUT you can only do this in the NOW. Thinking clearly  in the moment. When you are in the moment it depends on what level of consciousness you are at as to what you will see and find in life. As a spiritual being -YOU are your level of consciousness. that is everything that you are at that moment.

The important thing is that when the elevator is close to the ground floor, your state of Consciousness is that you are “caught up in your OWN thinking”. I had students like this when I was a Tutor at an FE college; they were “away with the fairies“, completely oblivious to everything going on around them. WHEN YOU ARE CAUGHT UP IN YOUR THINKING, YOU ARE A LONG, LONG, WAY FROM BEING IN THE MOMENT. You are not aware of reality – you are LOST in your own unique conception of reality.

When you feel like this observe your thinking, your mind will either be deliberating on good thoughts about the past or the future

OR

(very bad for your mental health) deliberating on bad thoughts about the past or the future.

 

Remember:  THE PAST and THE FUTURE only exist in your mind. THEY ARE NOT REAL, no matter how much they may feel like they are.

When you recognise “THOUGHT” has taken away your consciousness, then dismiss ANY THOUGHTS THAT APPEAR TO YOU TO BE FICTION, and you will be more conscious of what is real straight away.

The further the elevator goes in an upwards direction, YOU CAN SEE much more of what is actually happening NOW – in the moment! NOW is the only thing that is real! All the rest is a viewpoint which is very often TOSH [short for TOtal SHite]

Consciousness has no “top floor”; this building just goes infinitely UP. The further up you are, the further and more that you see AND the closer to NOW and REALITY you are.

Mind is like a rudder on a ship. The mind steers you through life and is what makes you an intelligent life form, able to reason and analyse. Imagine you are walking down a road and you see someone that you recognise, but are unable to name, even though you are sure that you know you have met them before and are very familiar with who they are.

You do NOT stop walking whilst you think about your friend’s identity. NO, you continue walking and thinking at the same time. YOU Have TWO minds. One we already know about – the conscious mind – and the other – the subconscious mind. They are NOT separate entities (providing you have not been in an accident and the interconnection is damaged). They are the same mind working in two very different modes.

The subconscious mind is the one that does all the automatic body stuff, the stuff you just do automatically—maintaining motion, temperature and oxygen levels. Background hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, touching. This mind is the RUDDER I spoke about earlier. IT GETS ITS VIEW OF THE WORLD VIA THE 5 SENSES. (I sincerely believe that we all have a 6th sense which brings us messages that we do not know the source of – leave this for now, I may come back to it later) You can compare it to a computer running a fixed LIFE program. I say fixed because it uses data collected in the first seven years of life to navigate the way through this world. It spent seven years beta testing a program it intended to use forever if you like. This is called the small mind mainly because we are largely unaware of what the hell is going on in here. That is good. When the Tiger threatens, you don’t want to be wondering what to do. You need that knee-jerk, automatic response. PLUS, you need the energy to do one of two things FIGHT or FLIGHT. People who have lifted cars off loved ones when they need to GET THEM OUT have screamed loud enough in their mind.

Typically the subconscious MIND gets on fine with whatever life throws at it. However, it has an alarm system, and that’s where we have to go to next.

The alarms are called “feelings”.

When danger comes then you feel “ill-at-ease”

People get in-tune with these feelings and they call this intuition.

Some people TRUST their intuition and are intuitive thinkers. These are the people that are very aware of what is happening inside their bodies. Sometimes this system can suggest what seems to an intellectual thinker complete non-sense. 

INTELLECTUAL THINKER

This is the one that is very prized by us. This is why you go to school. To learn stuff.

SCHOOL encourages you to THINK using information that you have been FED.

Sydney Banks refers to this “knowledge” as being OUTSIDEin. ie. it is information that CAME from the OUTSIDEand found its way INSIDE.

You sit and pass examinations, get certificates, letters after your name and the world says you are an expert in your field. Doctor, Educationalist, Engineer, Manufacturer, Health promotor etc.

Let’s go back to the Computer example. If you put rubbish data into a computer then you get rubbish out of it. The main function of any computer is to manipulate information fed to it through it’s input channels. What comes out is decided by what you put in.

What if the OUTSIDEin was garbage?

 

INTUITIVE THINKER

This is the one that we call by many different names. We mentioned intuition. It is also known as WISDOM. WIsdom relies on a belief system that is as old as time itself. You were born with this information and it is 100 percent TRUE. This information Sydney Banks refers to as INSIDEout it’s source is INSIDE and was a gift to you. It is data that flows from inside to the outside. It has CLARITY & it is not CORRUPTED by what other people have told you. It is TRUTH and you have it inside you. Before you learned to think [by attending all that schooling], you lived your life by it all the time. Wisdom knew best and the world had not yet had chance to corrupt this gentle truth which knows who the real you actually is.

This thinking is reliant on “feelings” rather than facts.

Some facts are inarguably TRUE. Drop an apple and it goes downward, never up. Spit at a Gorilla and it will attack you. and so on. Sydney Banks refers to these as WHAT IS.

There are facts which have unpredictable outcomes – Sydney Banks refers to these as WHAT IS NOT.

Sometimes we get things a bit “arse upwards” & we get confused about our FACTS. Some WHAT IS NOT’s get treated by us as if they are WHAT IS and that’s where the trouble starts.

Our sub-conscious spots big holes in our reasoning and cannot “make sense” of what it knows.

It tries desperately to resolve the problems it senses [feels] BUT cannot come up with a resolution.

We spoke about ALARM FEELINGS before and this alarm is serious and desperate. YOU CANNOT IGNORE THIS ALARM!!!!!

We call it ANXIETY. If you do keep ignoring the alarm it will get louder and more louder and it will escalate to other feeling that it feels you will not ignore.

The alarm is triggered because information that the sub-conscious mind has tells it that what you believe is rubbish and it is trying to get you to sort it out.

BUT HOW CAN YOU SORT SOMETHING OUT WITH A MIND THAT YOU ARE UNAWARE OF???

 

We somehow NEED to get the conscious mind to receive messages from the sub-conscious mind. Somehow we have got to get the intellectual mind to understand FEELINGS.

SO here IS some basic WHAT IS for you.

    1. THOUGHT is just  special FEELING
    2. THOUGHTS are not real
    3. THOUGHTS are what we act upon to do stuff
    4. THOUGHT influences our status from Comfortable to Uncomfortable and all the stages in between
    5. THOUGHT makes us HAPPY or SAD
    6. THOUGHT makes us POSITIVE or NEGATIVE
    7. THOUGHT decides whether we are well or sick
    8. THOUGHT  makes your world [or the way you see it] PARADISE or HELL
    9. THOUGHT is your world
    10. THOUGHT is NOT you
    11. THOUGHT is lazy it stuffs loads of different things in the same box – even though it is ridiculous to do so
    12. THOUGHT will invent stuff to prove that THOUGHT is right
    13. THOUGHT will tell you it is OKAY to judge everything and everybody
    14. THOUGHT will side with whoever it guesses will win an outcome even if the outcome is EVIL or corrupt
    15. THOUGHT JUSTIFIES EVERYTHING IT THINKS – BECAUSE YOU LET IT!

THOUGHT HAS BECOME YOUR REALITY AND IT IS OFTEN COMPLETELY WRONG OR OUT OF CONTROL.

THOUGHT is the principle you have to address and correct. MIND & CONSCIOUSNESS are inextricably intertwined with THOUGHT, and if you can tackle THOUGHT then the other two will automatically fall into line with your “new self” project, which is to have a newly re-progammed THOUGHT processes. This is not entirely true. The initial 7 years old program was pretty damned good BUT LIFE EXPERIENCE corrupted the progam introducing pointless loops, if then, goto, data, when etc. Conditions which basically shafted the whole program. What we are actually doing is “being born again” as far as mind, consciousness and thought IS concernered. [IS not ARE because mind, consciousness and thought are a trinity… They are inseperably ONE thing. Some call it GOD, OM, FATHER, CREATOR etc. But all are “one and the same”.]

This explanation of the THREE PRINCIPLES HAS BEEN LONG AND ARDUOUS BUT ONCE YOU HAVE UNDERSTOOD HOW THE THREE PRINCIPLES FORM YOUR WORLD THEN YOU HAVE ALREADY CRACKED IT!

NOW YOU KNOW. YOU CAN JUST RELAX AND TAKE IT EASY

COAST THROUGH LIFE

Just observed what is going on INSIDE and use your wisdom [not stuff the world has told you, but things that you have always known are right and proper – your inbuilt rules and standards that you expect of a perfect being] and when your thoughts are LUDICROUS then dismiss them for they are not real and have no power over you unless you let them.

AFTER A WHILE YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT THE WORLD, THE PEOPLE YOU SHARE IT WITH, AND EVERYTHING IN IT. YES EVEN THE NOT NICE BITS

  • THE FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN AND TO CLAIM WE KNOW “WHAT IS” IS UNTRUE. IT IS  “WHAT IS NOT”
  • NO ONE IS MORE IMPORTANT, OR LESS IMPORTANT, THAN YOU
  • WE ARE ALL BORN WITH THE SAME SURVIVAL WISDOM
  • WE ARE ALL FROM THE SAME SOURCE
  • I AM YOU AND YOU ARE ME – WE ARE ALL TOGETHER
  • MOSTLY ALL YOU EVER NEED IS LOVE
